Why Anonymity?

M & S are both working professionals.  Unfortunately, in the professional world, a chronic illness is seen as a liability. S remembers one time when she asked for some time off from what was at the time a new job (and is now a past one) for a few doctors appointments –her manager flipped, HR required that she document everything (intimating that she was faking it) and so it goes.

We want to be no holds barred on this blog, but, since we manage relationships directly with our clients, our livelihoods could be at stake. So, we’d prefer to keep the medical conditions that people usually don’t understand on the DL.

What does that mean for this blog?

For starters, if you know who we are, please keep it to yourself.  We ask that you respect our intentions for this blog and refer to us by our pseudonyms. And please don’t identify yourselves in a way that could be connected back to us (ie: I’m M’s friend, my name is [insert full name]).

If you’re here to comment or share your own experiences, feel free to do what’s comfortable FOR YOU.  We obviously are not going to demand full disclosure if we’re not willing to do so ourselves.  So, use your real name, remain anonymous, as you wish. However, if you plan on visiting us often, please considering at least choosing using a pen name so we can get to know you.  Bottom line, do what feels right for you.
